Why should you become a member?

You share our values

Like us, you believe that oral communication and cultural understanding are key to personal fulfilment and lasting social change.

You support our approach

Like us, you believe in the power of education.

We work with young people all over the world, especially disadvantaged groups, in order to increase oracy skills and cultural understanding. These skills help them to achieve their full potential and to change their lives and communities for the better.

You want to be part of a powerful network

By becoming a member, you’ll be part of an international community of like-minded people, all open to new ideas, new cultures and new ways of thinking. Our network of branches and International ESUs provide opportunities to meet, socialise and gain new perspectives on the world.

You want to support and engage with our educational work

As a member, you’ll be contributing to our vital educational work. Many members also choose to help us by fundraising or volunteering their time to help us run our programmes and competitions.

You want a home for global dialogue

While members meet all over the world, Dartmouth House, our headquarters in Mayfair, London, serves as a space for members to socialise, work, think and be inspired.

The house is Grade II-listed and offers a bar, lounge and marble courtyard (view a sample menu). If you would like a tour of the house, please just let us know.

Our life-changing work is made possible by the support of our members
