Gillian’s association with the English-Speaking Union began when she was awarded a scholarship to attend a US high school for a year, living with a family in New York City. She is keen to support the full range of the ESU’s activities and is particularly interested in strengthening the international reach, alumni base and development network. In her professional career, Gillian has worked primarily in finance, advising a broad range of private and public companies across a number of sectors and working extensively with institutional investors, multilateral agencies and governments. She is a senior advisor within PWC’s Sustainability & Climate Change practice, a non-executive director at GCP Student and a governor of The London School of Economics. She has also served as a governor of the Museum of London. Gillian began her career at J.P. Morgan with a variety of advisory and capital markets roles in New York and London and subsequently worked at the European Investment Bank and CDC Group. Gillian has a Master’s from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs and a BSc. in Economics from The London School of Economics and Political Science.
