International Council Meeting 2022

Twenty-five ESUs gather for the ICM in Karachi

The ESU International Council Meeting was held in Karachi from 28 to 30 October 2022, with 25 countries present at the hybrid conference. The ESU of the Commonwealth delegates were Barbara Firth, trustee, and Miles Contreras-Brown, ESU young member and secretary of the London Branch.  Sophia Taylor and Jane Easton made up the staff team. Jonathan Callund (ESU Chile) completed his two-year term as President of the International Council, and Aziz Memon (ESU Pakistan) was elected as President of the International Council for 2022-24. ESU Pakistan were generous hosts and provided a rich cultural programme alongside the business meeting. The Council shared good practice, educational developments and membership news, and looked forward to the resumption of the International Public Speaking Competition in London in May 2023.
