Hastings 1066 christmas lunch

Hastings 1066 enjoyed their December Christmas Lunch meeting at the Cooden Beach Golf Club, with many guests and members.

After dealing with the Christmas Crackers and a lovely lunch, our chief guest, Josephine Stanley informed the meeting about the progress of her library at Bexhill High Academy. The school is in the middle of exciting times. Year 7 and 8 students are now reading complete books for pleasure, enjoying the storyline and the characters. They are also reading as a whole class or in small groups, creating enthusiasm and discussion. Other colleagues and senior staff support the development and progress of the students.  Josephine was then presented with a cheque for £250.00 to further support the development of the library.  Josephine also invited two pupils to attend the Christmas Lunch – Hamish and Cameron, who enjoyed helping with the raffle.  There were were many prizes generously donated by guests and members.

Afterwards, Mrs Brenda Wilson informed guests and members that there is no meeting in January and that the next meeting will be in February at the Royal Victoria Hotel, in St. Leonards on Sea.
