Chester summer fundraising garden party

Branch members and their guests were joined by visiting members of the Liverpool and Merseyside Branch of the ESU for our Annual Summer fundraising event. Gail Featherstone, our English-Speaking Union Membership Officer, also joined us.

Once more we were blessed with lovely weather and were able to wander at leisure around the extensive gardens at Abbeywood with its glorious border, prairie style meadow, woodland and vegetable garden. At 3.00 pm we were entertained by two young musicians from Sir John Deane’s Sixth-Form College, Northwich – Flautist Hannah Faulkner and violinist Caitlin Sherwood. Afternoon tea was then served.

A raffle was held with very desirable prizes generously donated by the committee. £611.00 was raised for ESU projects.
