We are delighted to announce that Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal has graciously accepted the role of Patron for the English-Speaking Union.

Over many years as our President, Her Royal Highness has provided invaluable support to the ESU, championing our work in building oracy skills and cross-cultural understanding in young people across the world.

Miles Young, Chair of the ESU, said, “We are honoured and delighted to welcome Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal as our new Patron. The English-Speaking Union and our work are needed today more than ever. We are immensely grateful for Her Royal Highness’s ongoing support. From meeting the young participants of our International Public Speaking Competition to speaking at our annual Sir Evelyn Wrench Lecture, Her Royal Highness has highlighted the importance of our work. The Princess is admired worldwide for her unfailing commitment and dedication to many public and charitable causes.
