Mid-Atlantic Club

Mid-Atlantic Clubs – What are they?

The first Mid-Atlantic Club was set up in London in 1972, with the aim of providing informal contact for discussion of problems affecting primarily transatlantic relations within groups of interested individuals, actively engaged in a wide range of professions. The Mid-Atlantic Club in London meets monthly at Dartmouth House in Mayfair. The London Club with its new Chairman, wishes to focus not solely on relations between the USA and the UK but to include Europe and the wider world.

The guiding concept was that global problems, and in particular the development of East-West relations and of the European Community, made it increasingly necessary to maintain understanding and cooperation between North America and Europe. In this climate, Governments of the Atlantic countries could benefit from exchanges between relatively informed individuals of different nationalities in responsible positions in the private and public sectors.

At no time has this been more important than since the 11th September 2001 crisis and its aftermath.

The Mid-Atlantic Club now

Over the last 30 years a wide range of topics have been covered, many valuable friendships have been formed and a reputation for influential debate established.

The Club has links with The Pilgrims and it is hoped that further links will be established with the European Union.

Today there are Mid-Atlantic Clubs in London, New York, Brussels, Bonn and Berlin. Please visit
