Anna Mitchell

Anna supports our community of members, donors, volunteers, and alumni, helping to grow and sustain the ESU’s work across the UK and beyond. Her passion for oracy stems from personal experience of its power to build confidence and unlock opportunity in young people.

She studied English Literature and Spanish at Queen Mary University, before completing an MA in Modern Languages at King’s College London, with a focus on Latin America. Prior to joining the ESU, Anna worked across the hospitality sector in events, wine and customer service — developing a strong appreciation for people-focused work and clear communication.

Outside of her role, Anna is a committed volunteer across several charities, delivering psycho-educational programmes, peer support, and community outreach. She’s particularly passionate about the essential role supporters play in enabling charities to create meaningful, high-quality opportunities.

If she’s not volunteering, you’ll probably find Anna exploring the city or curled up in a library with a good book — and a glass of red wine!
