London Branch: Black History Walk

Loading Events

Celebrate Black History Month with the London Branch on a walking tour of the hidden African and Caribbean history in Mayfair from the 1920s to the 2020s. This two-hour mobile history presentation by the expert guide from Black History Walks will offer some fascinating insights: from ancient African goddesses to black-owned business and high society in the 1940s, Nigerian composers and Caribbean band leaders. Join us to learn more about Kenyan, South African and Zimbabwean connections and to view Mayfair, home of the ESU, from a new perspective.

Black History Walks are community champions and have featured on ITV, Channel 4, Teachers TV and the BBC. They were listed in Conde Nast Traveller’s Best 15 walks in London in 2018.
