ESU Bristol Branch zoom event: 'Bristol on the Box'

Loading Events

Join Bristol branch of the English-Speaking Union for an evening with film producer David Parker, to explore stories from the city’s past.

Did you know that Bristol once had a castle the size of ten football pitches, or that the plan of old medieval centre is similar to that of Moscow, or that Bristol was lost twice in the English Civil War. These are some of the stories from the past in the city and about which David Parker has made programmes for television. David has been making films for TV for the last 30 years, a number of which have been shot in Bristol. In this illustrated talk he will show clips from some of these films to shed light on some of the less well known elements of the history of the city.
