Mid-Cheshire

Welcome to the Mid-Cheshire branch

Welcome to the Chester Branch of the English-Speaking Union!

This branch has been in existence for many years in Cheshire and has been providing a valuable and worthwhile meeting forum for like-minded people to further the aims and objectives of the English-Speaking Union.

We meet for monthly lunch meetings from September to April.  These are held at Portal Premier Golf Club near Tarporley in the centre of the county and comprise of a presentation by a speaker followed by a two course lunch followed by tea or coffee. In addition to the programme of lunch meetings, the branch organises an annual outing of some kind and a fund-raising event to support the ESU programmes in which we are involved: these include the North-West regional final of the UK Public Speaking Competition, which we host.

We are also actively pursuing how we might introduce Discover Your Voice workshops in some of our local schools.

If you feel strongly about helping young people acquire the life skills and confidence so much needed in today’s world, please get in touch. You will be making a real difference to your local community, as well as joining a worldwide organisation dedicated to improving the life chances of young people everywhere.

We hope that this appeals to you and that soon we might be able to welcome you to our branch!
