On behalf of all at the English-Speaking Union, we would like to thank all members for your support over the past year, which has enabled us to develop the oracy skills of over 7,000 young people in England and Wales. Through the International Public Speaking Competition, we have also reached over one million young people in more than 50 countries around the world.
As we embark on our second century, we are keen to deliver more educational programmes to children in the most hard-to-reach communities in England and Wales, and to continue our international work. Our vision is for a world where all young people, everywhere, are able to listen to each other, deliver a coherent argument and understand others’ points of view. A modest increase in membership rates will help to make this possible.
The new rates represent excellent value for members and will enable the English-Speaking Union to help more young people thrive in our ever-changing world.
The Board of Governors is keen to ensure that our current members are able to continue their invaluable support for our organisation. We are committed to offering all existing members the option to remain on their present rates, subject to the annual RPI increase (please see here).
However, we would like to encourage all our loyal members to support us by moving across to the new membership rates, laying strong foundations for our next 100 years.
