Lincoln & Lincolnshire

WELCOME TO

the Lincolnshire branch

of the English-Speaking Union

As a member of the ESU you can take part in our social, educational and cultural programmes and attend events both in the UK and abroad. Local fundraisers and competition heats will enable you to support young people in your community.

As a UK member you receive a number of further benefits. These include priority access to Dartmouth House, our beautiful London Headquarters, regular e-news updates, a copy of our Members’ magazine and invitations to special events.

Lincolnshire Branch actively supports the core programmes of the ESU, including the UK Public Speaking Competition. In order to involve as many members as possible, events are held in different parts of the county two to three times a year.

I look forward to welcoming you into the ESU family!

Meet the Chairman

Welcome to the ESU Lincolnshire Branch. We cover Lincolnshire and also have a number of members and supporters from Nottinghamshire. Lincolnshire is a large, friendly county with a relatively small population but we have an active branch which focuses on quality of events rather than quantity. To view the Chairman's message for 2017 please click here.

In any one year, we hope to have five to six events which would include the UK Public Speaking Competition, talks from interesting speakers, the AGM which includes presentations from branch scholars from the previous year, an evening at Doddington Hall sculpture exhibition, the Lincoln Book Festival and a black tie dinner.

We aim to raise money to assist school children in the art of speaking and listening through the Discover Your Voice programme. Do please consider joining us, you will be very welcome.

Are you planning to travel abroad next year? Would a travel grant from Lincolnshire ESU make a difference?

Over the last 100 years, the English-Speaking Union has supported many young people in developing and furthering their cultural understanding. The Lincoln and Lincolnshire Branch also fund 3 of their own annual travel grants in support of this mission.
