Thanksgiving lunch

We had our Thanksgiving Lunch in the lovely village hall in Boxgrove on 22 November. Our speaker was the ESU Director-General Jane Easton, who gave us a good overview of the charity and its focus on schools where there are no ESU branches. And she reminded us about the possibility of a place in an American school for a suitable English student, who is between A Levels and university.

We celebrated the 100th birthday of our oldest member, Mary Esson, and Jane presented her with a gift. Also at the lunch were two past chairmen of our branch. It was lovely to see Roger Tilbury and his wife Christine, back among us. We wish David Tinsley and Joyce all the best for their move to Kent – sometime in the future!
