The English-Speaking Union invites you to an evening with author John Mullan to explore the works of Charles Dickens.

Author and professor of English literature John Mullan will be in conversation with Alastair Niven, Co-Chair of the Events Committee, talking about his highly acclaimed new book The Artful Dickens (Bloomsbury, £16.99). Attendees can expect to discover some of the legendary author’s greatest literary tricks, from how he perfected his characters’ names to how he used the description of smells to such powerful effect.
