International Public Speaking Competition

Loading Events

The ESU International Public Speaking Competition brings together the best young speakers from all over the world for a week of cultural exchange and public speaking contests. Established in 1980, it now reaches over one million young people in more than 50 countries across the globe, showcasing the highest standard of public speaking, while giving delegates an opportunity to meet and engage with other young people of different backgrounds and nationalities.

This year’s finalists (national winners of the English-Speaking Union’s or other public speaking competitions in their country) must write and deliver a speech connected with the themes ‘Our real choices are made without us realising it’ and ‘We expect too much from our heroes’.

The Grand Final of the IPSC will be streamed live on Friday, 13 May at 5pm GMT on the ESU YouTube channel, and we welcome all who would like to watch the world’s brightest young speakers in action to join us then:
