About us

The ESU Herefordshire Branch bids you a warm welcome. We are only a few in number, but I and my helpers care very deeply about encouraging young people to develop the confidence to express themselves in public. As a former Member of Parliament, the importance of this was brought home to me when I first sought election – during my education very little attention was formally paid to this vital aspect! As a result, I am determined to do what we can to help young people in this respect.

We are particularly proud of our participation in the UK Public Speaking Competition and the Schools’ Mace. I am delighted with the achievements of our participating schools and in particular, the individual successes at regional level against stiff competition.

We would very much like to build on these successes and will welcome new members who share our passion – as well as the wider aspirations of the ESU.
