Currently recruiting for:

Branch Education Officer

£26,500k | Full-time | Mayfair, London

Have you got the skills to orchestrate selected ESU educational competitions in England and Wales? We’re looking for an excellent communicator with great administration skills and a solid understanding of the areas of education in which the ESU operates.

This role will:

- Be responsible for supporting branches in the administration and front-line delivery of competitions within the Education Department's portfolio, ensuring they run smoothly and in line with ESU aims, objectives and guidelines.

- Work closely with ESU branches to organise competition heats and regional finals.

- Respond to requests for information and enquiries about ESU branch delivered competitions.

- Regularly report and write about ESU branch delivered competitions in various media, including the ESU’s communication channels

- Work closely with the Education Network team to maintain a high-quality adjudication pool.

- Encourage and support ESU branches to broaden the diversity of participating schools in the competitions.

- Work closely with ESU branches and the Discover Your Voice team to promote training/teaching programmes to state schools.

We offer 28 days annual leave, a contributory pension scheme and the opportunity to work in Dartmouth House within the heart of Mayfair. The working hours are 35 per week.

Debating Programmes Officer

Have you got the skills to expand and run ESU debating programmes in England and Wales? We’re looking for an excellent communicator with great administration skills and a solid understanding of the areas of education in which the ESU operates.

This role will:

- Be a primary point of contact for organisations interested in/engaged with ESU debating programmes (teaching programmes and competitions), providing information and support.

- Help promote ESU debating programmes to schools not currently in contact with the English-Speaking Union

- Be responsible for providing administrative support for ESU debating programmes, including partnerships with other organisations.

- Manage and deliver ESU debating programmes.

- Be a primary point of contact for schools interested in/engaging with Discover Debating.

- Provide support for impact measurement of projects and programmes.

- Work closely with Education Network Officer, ensuring mentors are deployed efficiently and effectively.

- Liaise with the Finance Department to ensure efficient financial management of ESU debating programmes.

- Liaise with the Communications Department to disseminate information about and promote ESU projects and programmes.

- Support the work of the Education Department as necessary including judging, coaching and administration.

- Assist in the development of new programmes in-line with ESU debating programmes strategy and Education Department wider goals.
