After many years as an actress, Helen Rappaport turned to the study and writing of history particularly that of Russia and Victorian England. A fluent Russian speaker, she is now recognised as a leading expert of Russian history, specialising in the Revolution and its aftermath. She is a respected author and her books include several on the events of Ekaterinburg in July 1918. The centenary of the death of the Tsar and Tsarina and their children is an appropriate time to revisit the events which changed the course of Russian politics, the reverberations of which continue to be felt around the world.
