The ESU Chilton Art History Scholarship sponsors a student on a Christie's Education Course

Caption

The ESU Chilton Art History Scholarship sponsors a student on a Christie's Education Course. The award is designed to help fund part of the fees for either the Graduate Diploma courses or the Master’s option (awarded by the University of Glasgow). A scholarship of £3,000 will be awarded to one applicant who has been offered a place on any of the courses mentioned below.

Options for both courses are either

  1. Early European Art: Antiquity, Middle Ages, Renaissance / Fine and Decorative Arts: Renaissance to 1960
  2. Modern and Contemporary Art: 1860 to present day.

A further option for the M Litt Programme only is "The Arts of China: 1700BC - 1800AD".

Please refer to Christie’s website for more details on these courses.

The first award was made for the academic year 1994-95 and it is hoped that the Scholarship will continue to be awarded annually.

The successful candidate will be chosen by the normal selection procedure at Christie's Education, in conjunction with representatives from the ESU. Applicants must be fluent in both written and spoken English and must be prepared to attend interviews, at their own expense, in either London or New York.

Eligibility
Applicants need to be able to show through their future plans how they would ‘make a difference’ to the art world in their home country through studying at Christie’s Education.

Commitments
The recipient will be expected to attend two social events a term organized by ESU, one of which may be overnight

Further information on both the courses and the Scholarship can be obtained from Christie's Education, 153 Great Titchfield Street, London W1W 5BD, Telephone: 020 7665 4350 Fax: 020 7665 4351 e-mail: education@christies.com
