The widely respected HRH The Duke of Edinburgh English Language Book Award was founded in the 1970s to recognise innovation and good practice in the field of the English language and English language teaching. The award is based on originality and substance by a select panel of widely respected judges.
Overall Winner: Speakout by Antonia Clare, Frances Eales, Steve Oakes, JJ Wilson, Pearson.
Highly Commended: Dynamic Presentations by Mark Powell, Cambridge University Press
Best for Children: Sunshine by Marta Graciela Garcia Lorea and Elida Beatriz Messina, Garnet Education
Regulations
Books published from 1 July 2011 to 30 June 2012 are eligible to enter.
Entry is £85 for the first book submitted and £75 for all subsequent books entered.
Cheques should be made payable to The English-Speaking Union and accompanied by the entry form, available here.
There is no limit on the number of entries from any given publisher or individual.
Entries must be submitted by Friday 20 July 2012
Prizes
The prizes will be given at a special award ceremony in November 2012.
The results are widely reported in the press, professional newspapers and journals and through the ESU.
Winning entries may use the award logo on the publication to indicate their accolade.
