The ESU runs two political exchange programmes. The longest running of these is the Capitol Hill Exchange between Westminster and Washington DC. Each year, a number of UK graduates apply and are interviewed for the opportunity to go to the US and intern in the office of a Senator, Congressman or lobby group operating out of the capital. The sister programme to the Capitol Hill Exchange is the Assemblée Nationale, between Westminster and Paris.
These programmes offer a unique opportunity to experience, first hand, political life in the US and France. Each exchange student's experience is unique, depending on the national and international politics at the time.
