The ESU is delighted to announce that this year's London Debate Challenge was won by the team from Hayes School in Bromley. This year was the eleventh London Debate Challenge, a competition which brings together schools from across London's 32 boroughs, with many of the participants having never experienced competitive debating before.
The finals day was held on Friday 6 July at Dartmouth House, the international Headquarters of the ESU, and as ever the Speech and Debate mentors were out in force to judge the three rounds and the final debate. Particular thanks go to Richard Robinson, who convened the competition, co-ordinating the borough convenors who, themselves, worked extremely hard to ensure the smooth-running of the competition.
Special thanks also should go to the LDC's sponsors, The Week, Mediacom and ESU London Region, without whom the competition could not have taken place.
