Tales from Felix Dennis

This article was published on Thursday 17 March 2011

Entrepreneur, publisher and poet, Felix Dennis, came to Dartmouth House at our latest Meet the Author event to discuss his new book, Tales from the Woods.

His new book, a collection of 50 poems, give give an "impassioned hymn of praise to trees and to the English countryside".

From the quality of light in the early morning, to solitary walks along the forest floor and the joyous exuberance of young birds learning to fly, Tales from the Woods celebrates the wonders of the natural world through poetry that, as Paul McCartney recently described, "sings like a summer breeze through the playground".

Felix discussed his love of poetry (that he admitted was also sometimes a curse), his ambitions for his Forest of Dennis charity and read a selection of his favourite verses.
